Ibanez UV777 Steve Vai 7-String Jem Electric Guitar

Ibanez UV777 Steve Vai 7-String Jem Electric GuitarBasswood body. Five-piece maple/wenge neck. DiMarzio pickups. Edge Pro 7 bridge.

The debut of the Steve Vai’s JEM in 1987 and the introduction of his Universe 7-string changed everything. It’s impossible to think of any one person who has done more for the evolution of Ibanez guitars than Steve Vai. The contoured basswood body with 24-fret Prestige JEM neck provides easy access to all registers. The deep routed tremolo cavity allows pitches to be lowered or raised. Vai’s choice of specific DiMarzio pickups, combined with Ibanez Split-5 wiring, provide incredible tonal versatility. Steve Vai’s Universe — the guitar that ignited the 7-string revolution — allows almost effortless transition from 6- to 7-string techniques.

Feature:
Includes all the tools you’ll need to change strings, adjust action, and setup. Whammy bar is included, and is very easy to just snap in, and doesn’t come loose. However, recently, Ibanez has had some defective volume pots, which freeze up and refuse to turn. The guitar is made out of a Basswood body, 5 piece maple/winged neck, features the Edge Pro Bridge, and the DiMarzio blaze pickups. Fretted without large frets (Not jumbo.)

Quality:
This is a very awesome guitar. Probably the best 7 string on the market. The majority of good 7-strings have come from Ibanez, and this is no exception. Without splurging money for the top of the line, this is one of the best you can get.  Anyone that thinks this guitar is a piece of junk clearly has his head to far up his ass to really see how wonderful an instrument it is.

The sound is incredibly good with just the stock hardware. The bottom end isn’t muddied out even when down-tuned to A, and the bridge crunch is still heavy. The neck position through a clean channel is also surprisingly beautiful and not too thick.

Value:
This is a great guitar if you aren’t looking to spend $1500+ on a signature or custom made 7-string, and still get a great value and sound. This thing is also a work of art. The binding, disappearing pyramid inlays, and the all seeing eye below the bridge are a sight to behold, and give the guitar a mystical appearance. You can tell this guitar was built with the intention to stand the test of time.  Check Latest Price.

Sound:
It sounds really great. Dimarzio pickups are awesome. They give off a really good sound for any style of music, and not to muddy or anything.

The Blazes in this guitar are very tight, and back off the midst. Great clean sounds on position 4 with the coil splitting in the neck humbucker. This guitar sounds HUGE. It’ll add more depth to all the six string stuff you already do. The DiMarzio Blaze pickups are GREAT. IMO, they are the best 7 string pickups. Running through amp, it gets the tone who looking for. The sustain is great.

Ease of use:
This guitar has a very smooth on finished neck (very fast), and a comfortable feel at the bridge. Rest that palm with any pitch warbling like many floating bridges can do. Ibanez put a lower bass line on guitar and allows you to play in the lower chord (based on 6-strings ordinary guitars). Pretty great stuff!

Variety of sounds at your fingertips with a HSH pickup configuration, and 5 way toggle. If you are coming from a six to a seven, the transition is very easy with this guitar.

Desirability:
This guitar is the sexiest thing ever. The cosmetics are outstanding on it, and will leave you Gassing for one the minute you see it. Beautiful guitar, but the pearl and stuff just drives the price up. You really don’t need all that stuff.

Overall:
With out all that pearl and stuff it’s still an amazing, beautiful looking and sounding guitar. Extremely satisfied with all  universes. They all play great and are worth their weight in gold.

Schecter Damien-7 7-String Electric Guitar

Schecter Damien-7 7-String Electric GuitarEMGhz7-A pickup set. “Pearl Bats” inlays.

Schecter doesn’t just build great guitars, they create them. Like works of art, each design is a work of art, individual, but still showing Schecter example of quality in durability, playability, and of course, sounds. The Damien-7 is no exception. With a bolt-on Basswood neck with Rosewood fingerboard and Basswood body loaded with EMGhz7-A pickups, anyone will admit that this guitar doesn’t just sound good; it looks good, too.

Feature :
This is a really sweet guitar that you should definitely consider to buy. The black satin, hardware, and bat inlays give such a phantasmagoric vibe. Beautiful and menacing at the same time. The most important. The jumbo frets gives you extra precision on fast fingering riffs and solos, it’s very comfortable. It never gets out of tune. It is perfect for any occasion. Whether it be practicing at home or in a band. The EMG pickups give it an extra crunch on palm muted riffs.

Quality:
The quality for the price is ridiculous. It looks good, plays good, and sounds good. The distortion was too perfect. This is guitar comes in handy when you want to play an extreme metal song. The tuning machines are split up just like i like them, the body is heavy. It works good for songs that need dropped tuning.

Sound:
The sound is clean the distorted rhythms are great, and the distorted lead is great as well and fat. This guitar will just work great in both studio and stage. This guitar will blow everything that gets on its way.

The sounds that come out of it are amazing, has played it on all kinds of amps. This thing beats the Hell raiser hands-down, and is worth every penny.

Value:
It is definitely worth the price. Check Latest Price.

Ease of Use:
For a seven string the neck is easier to handle then typical 7s. Ease of adjusted to the larger neck, but soon realized They were have to take the adjusting of it more seriously as it is a very different feel than a 6 string’s, and can potentially cause wrist damage if not handled the correct way. Found the neck slightly “slower” than my 6 string’s. When asked about it, found that it is a common thing among 7 strings. This too took minimal adjusting to become used to it. After maybe a week, it felt like any of my 6-strings.

Desirability:
This guitar is fantastic for any kind of low and heavy riffs, and is an excellent choice if you are looking for a 7 string. Apart from the musical side of it - VERY SEXY! One thing the sort of didn’t like at first was the slightly dullness of the color, although that might have been because was expecting a glossy finish.

Overall:
Expect to be using this for quite a while. With the 7th string, it will serve its versatile needs for a good amount of time. Overall, very nice looking guitar.
