Epiphone Guitar announced the release of the Limited Edition Roy Orbison 12-String Signature Acoustic model. Produced in cooperation with the legendary singer/songwriter Roy Orbison’s estate, the model is based upon Roy’s own 1962 Epiphone “Bard” 12-string acoustic guitar. A faithful reproduction of the 1962 Bard, this rich sounding 12-string features a solid spruce top with hand-scalloped bracing, a solid mahogany back, a rosewood 12-string bridge and vintage tuners. As an added touch of authenticity, Epiphone adds the a replica of the original blue rectangular sound hole label used during the famous Kalamazoo, MI years.

For this limited edition release, the back of the guitar’s headstock includes a replica of Roy Orbison’s signature and the notation for the first measure of the famous song’s introduction riff. Also included is a hard case with Roy’s signature and “sunglass” icon on it, a certificate of authenticity hand signed by Barbara Orbison and Roy’s son Roy Orbison Jr., a black and white photo of Roy with his original Epiphone Bard 12-string, a sunglass lapel pin and a copy of the “Oh Pretty Woman” sheet music. Bound body. Rosewood fingerboard inlaid with triangular pearloid markers.

This guitar broke all the rules of traditional styling when it appeared amid the ‘British’ sound of the 1960′s. Subtly updated through the years, this deluxe hollow body with its special contour around the entire body perimeter is still perhaps the most comfortable guitar of all. The bound body and Rosewood fingerboard, inlayed with triangular pearled markers, provide an exceptionally attractive appearance. Stereo output is standard. Click here for more info!

Feature:
The electronics are solid and the pickups clean and transparent. The only “accessory” was the hardshell case, which you will want to have if you’re doing gigs. As far as features, it has a fixed bridge and both stereo and mono outputs, which is pretty cool.

Well balanced so it is easy to handle. The neck is narrow for a 12 string guitar which you like. Great sound however, just like most 12 string guitars it is a little difficult to Tune. More experience with tuning it will help. Click here for features!

Quality:
This product is incredible, despite its semi hollow body it can take a lot of beating. Look, for instance, at the way Tom Gabel of Against Me! Plays his on tour!

Sound:
The Tone is superb, ringing tones of velvet notes and chords. This is why the Beatles, etc used this type of guitar.

Value:
If you want a Classic studio tone guitar this is it, defiantly worth it. Check latest price!

Ease of Use:
This is the easiest-to-play guitar that’s ever graced your calloused fingers. The neck is rosewood, so it’s easy to slide up and down the neck with relative ease. This has a nice range of high and low tones, very playable, the action is just right.

Desirability:
The so-called sex appeal of a Rickenbacker is like the sex appeal of a classic muscle car. Maybe a young kid driving around in a Honda Civic won’t like it, as he tosses his Korean-made Epiphone in the trunk, but the rest of us know American Quality when we see it.

This guitar has a very classic look that you immediately identify with the great artists that have used Rickenbackers before: George Harrison, Sam Cooke, Tom Petty, and Buck Owens just to name a few. This might not be the guitar for people that dig “Pantera,” but it is a beautiful instrument.

Overall:
It’s simply perfection. It is playable different models. Once you play a “RICK”, there is no turning back.

Adjustable 12-saddle hard-tail bridge. Maple neck with Rosewood fingerboard.

The Stratocaster XII features an Alder body, Maple neck and Rosewood fingerboard with 21 frets.

Feature:
The finish and the look of this guitar are great and the sound is good (A little muddy using the neck pickup). The factory setup on this thing is horrible, the action was so high it was unplayable. This can NOT be corrected just by lowering the bridge, the neck has to be removed. After a lengthy setup it plays well with out any fret buzz. The neck is a little to narrow for my liking causing me to bump other strings while fretting. Has good looks and stylishly light. The guitar to hard on wiring though.

Quality:
This is a great sounding 12 string that looks cool and is extremely easy to play. The instrument is quite light in weight with good balance and it has a rather narrow neck. The tone is really perfect for a 12 string and this guitar is easier than most other 12 strings I’ve tried. The guitar arrived in perfect condition and fits in a standard strat-sized case. It has a solid feel and the finish is spot-on Fender beautiful.

Sound:
This guitar has pretty good sound depending on the amp you use. It is a good beginners guitar but for more experienced players this isn’t your choice. As far as the sound goes the sound on these is comparable to what you would get on far more expensive 12 strings. They sound beautiful, unique and at this price it is a great buy. It sounds like a strat, but adds the chorus, phase, jangle sound of the extra 6 strings. It sounds great both clean, and with some grit.

Ease of Use:
If you have never owned a 12 string before this is an easy playing instrument and this guitar will bring out a different side to your playing as it does to mine.
The action is great right out of the box and it is EZ to chord. When you plug it into your Jangle Box and Sonic Stomp, the sound of this guitar is as good as my Rickenbacker 12 which costs a great deal more than the Strat.

Value:
This guitar is worth a little less then they’re asking, around 150 less. Check Latest Price.

Desirability:
The 3 color sunburst gives this guitar that vintage look, so that really appeals to us old Byrd’s and Beatles fans, who already love the jangly sound of the electric 12.

Slimmed and re-contoured neck makes this model 360/12 easier to play than ever.

The world’s most popular 12-string electric guitar boasts all of the deluxe features of its Model 360 cousin. A standard for recording for more than 30 years, its haunting, melodic chorus has continued to benefit from evolution. The slimmed and re-contoured neck now makes model 360/12 easier to play than ever.

Feature:
It is a 12-string semi-hollowbody guitar with a solid top, it has the Old Body style (same as the 330), a binding at the back and at the front, and on the slash hole. The controls are the classic Rickenbacker controls: two volumes, two tones, and a fifth control knob. The two pickups were made by Rickenbacker; they are high-gains (single coils). The electronic is entirely passive.

The body is finished in Jetglo (black). The bridge is the classic Rickenbacker bridge, and the guitar has a R tailpiece. The tuners are made by Schaller. The neck is the classic Rickenbacker neck. Included with the guitar were the case and a Rick-o-sound. The Ric-o-sound feature is useful when you want that real vintage Ric sound, and the guitar is actually quite versatile, as most 12-strings aren’t.

Quality:
it is stunning, with no blemishes and nice grain. All of the electronics work perfectly. The tuners work perfectly, too, and there are no spurs or anything on the saddles or in the tailpiece grooves. The frets are perfectly leveled. Everything was great from the factory. Would like to see more coats of finish to bring out the natural beauty of the wood with a higher gloss.

Sound:
Absolutely beautiful. As a stand alone plugged in the tones that emminate for the 360/12 os humbling. Run the 360/12 thru a Guitar Port of Line6 Pod and give it some British amp modes and a little compressor, bam, you are a jangle-master. This guitar has the best electric 12 string sound for its type and purpose.

Ease of Use:
It’s incredibly easy to get great sounds from this product. The fifth knob might confuse some newcomers to the Rick-Land, but reading the manual (it is not that long, honestly!) will clear that up. The pots are arranged a bit differently than on generic-brand guitars, but they’re easy to figure out, too, especially since they’re labeled. The neck is so much easier to get used to than everyone else seems to think.

Neck cut is phenomenal, as is the weight and design of the guitar. it plays great, and no other 12-string plays anywhere near it. The pickups have a very wide range and are easy to find great sounds with.

Value:
No doubt about it. For fear of not being able to afford another Rickenbacker, they are priced most reasonably. This is not a cheep guitar but you do get what you pay for. Properly cared for the will last for generations. Check Latest Price.

Desirability:
The visual appeal of the Rickenbacker is incredible. The Rickenbacker carries a history unlike any other American made guitar. The first time holding a Rickenbacker is nearly orgasmic!

It would look great maybe onstage or something its design is basically genius as it brings more opportunities to bands and guitarists. This thing just plain looks as great as it sounds.

Overall:
Overall, it has surpassed all of expectations (which were very good to begin with.) Its sound is to die for, and its visual styling unique (Rickenbacker’s lawyers make sure of this.), and can’t beat the price for genuine American made quality.
