Electric Guitar Review

The popular SG style featuring Alnico-V Humbuckers, and a beautiful Mahogany Body for lefties.

Feature:
Every part is defiantly used but there is not a bunch of features for this guitar. The pick ups were nice and the looks and the finish of the guitar were very good. The only things you can think of to add to this guitar are coil taps, a phase switch, and neck binding. But all of that would change the vintage vibe and raise the price so its probably best as it is. Check Price.

Quality:
This guitar is amazing!!! Best paint job for epiphone. The finish, etc were very good. Better in some respects than the Mexican made Fenders. The build quality of this guitar is astounding! The pictures you see of these do not do justice to the finish. It is absolutely gorgeous.

The rosewood on the fretboard even has a little figuring to it, and looks FAR better than Korean made Agile. There is a pinhead sized spot on the bottom of the body where there must have been a tiny air bubble. This is absolutely the best looking guitar for the money.

Sound:
The sound is great. It strange that this model felt and sounded better than the Tony Iommi signature model and yet costing about half of what the Tony Iommi model cost. The G400 model is made solid and is quite impressive sounding as well as nice looking.

The pick ups had a nice bite to them in drive mode and yet when you played both pick ups through your old Ibanez chorus it sounded nice and full without being muddy.

The SG has a different tone than other similar guitars, and it takes a little getting used to. The sweet spots are in different places than other guitars for the neck pickup, due to it being a little further back from the fretboard than a Les Paul or others.

Maybe that’s why some have complained about the pickups because this guitar sounds EXACTLY as it should. Even tried other pickups and they did not have the pick sensitivity or the vintage tone, or especially the low-end balls that the stock ones do.

Ease of Use:
This is a nice thin guitar that sits well in your lap. Epiphones necks be a little on the thick side (except the Casino/Sheraton/dot models) for your hands.

Value:
This is THE biggest bang for your buck. No doubt, a great value for it being a second guitar on stage or very good first guitar that won’t find its way to traded in for a long time. Check latest price.

Overall this is an amazing deal on a quality guitar that plays well and has a true vintage vibe and tone. The quality guitar to bring to the gigs if the weather is too cold or to hot and humid for Gibson Les Paul is exposed too.

Upgraded version. Alder body. Standard hardware.

Alder body, 3 single-coil pickups and standard synchronized tremolo — it’s where the tradition began and still carries on today.  Check the price.

Features:
It gets some pretty decent classic rock sounds, and with the right pickup selection you can get a decent metal tone out of the pups. The neck is fast and the action came set perfect. With that being said…. This guitar was made very well, it plays Great and looks Fantastic! It makes you want to play it.

Quality:
The natural wood grain is clearly visible under the lighter brown portions of the burst. The maple neck is strong and ‘fast’ and the electronics/tuners do their job without any problems so far.

Tone/volume knobs and switch all work just fine. The pickups aren’t too bad, but it really depends on taste. With the stock strings and stock pickups, it’s a decent guitar. It really comes down to taste. Right now, it sounds beautifully bluesy to me with everything stock, but the pickups can be a bit muddy and tinny at the same time.

Sound:
There is a difference between ceramic and alnico magnet pickups. It isn’t just the differences in their magnetic qualities. It is the fact that alnico magnet pickups have 6 small magnets and ceramic magnet pickups have 1 magnet with 6 steel pole pieces. If the presence or absence of tone pickups in the chain affects the tone.

Ease of Use:
These aren’t very well crafted. that translates to an uncomfortable neck profile and so-so frets. But overall its OK.

Overall:
Great for beginners and for long time users, the recommend changing the pickups and tuners.

GAX neck, agathis body, rosewood fingerboard, Full Tune II bridge.

The most demanded affordable axe in Ibanez’ history, the GAX70, was made for music now, not music then. The crystal cut, double cutaway body is crafted of agathis, a wood similar in look to mahogany, but more similar in tone alder. Agathis has good sustain in the high end which is an excellent tonal characteristic fort he kind of cutting rhythm and lead work needed for today’s harder and heavier rock.

Although modern in feel and tone, the GAX has all the traditional goodies: popular two humbucking configuration with two Powersound pickups and a standard 3 way toggle switch, rosewood fretboard on a 24 3/4 in. scale, 22 fret 1 piece maple neck, and die-cast tuners. The Ibanez Full Tune II bridge with stop tailpiece contributes to the GAX’s ample sustain as well as making for easy intonating. The fact that this is an inexpensive axe is just a plus. Quality:
There is like a little piece of metal that the chord touches when it is plugged in and one of the two wires came undone despite the fact that it was soldered when it was made. Not good but not bad.

Sound:
The best guitar for grunge player
Great sound. The Line6 Spider III HD150 head and a Behringer cab. This sound definitely rivals that of another brand. It has great middle and is not as fat as a Les Paul but it has a clear, sharp sound with very hot pickups.

Ease of Use:
The frets are a little smaller than on most guitars and it has a very thin neck. This is a great soloing guitar or a guitar for a beginner. I regularly play this. It fits well and it is very light.

This guitar is very playable… very enjoyable…a lot of fun to play. With a click of switch and the turn of a dial you have what you want with ease. And the lady really stays in tune

It is so much easier to play than the Les Paul, and its neck and fretwork are superior in quality. Excellent price!! Check Latest Price.

Desirability:
It looks great, it`s the best Rock Guitar. The color and the double cut away style is just mind blowing sexy. It’s a beautiful black it gets dusty every now and then but a little cleaner could help that.

Overall:
Just a great guitar for a beginner or for studio recording by any professional
