Thanks for the in-depth review. After owning one of these tele's for a few months, I'd like to add a couple things.

2 things you dislike, I do like. Namely the unfinished neck (which I have on another guitar of mine, a Charvel) and the top-loading bridge.

Unfinished necks are screaming fast when when maintained with a couple light coats of oil once or twice a year, and they feel great.

I also love the tone given off by the top-loading bridge. Yes, you lose a little sustain, but you gain a snarl and an edginess that, for me, I love.

They're not noiseless pickups, so you have to move around a little to find the "sweet spot", but that's true for any non-noiseless single-coils.

I'm not a beginner, been playing for over 20 yrs.

I've owned, and sold, an MIM standard Tele. This one plays better.

The slightly thinner body of the Affinity series, means a thinner neck-heel, which is a huge plus.

I have no problem with the tuners either, mine holds tuning quite well.

Thanks. Enjoy!

I think that ESP has really been upping their game lately. Some of their newer instruments are very nice, and I like how they are taking older models like the F series or H series (like this one) and improving on them. Ex. they took a simple F50 and are improving it, and you can now get one with a floyd rose for only about 250 bucks. Their lower end guitars compete with several mid-priced guitars I've played.
