I’ve got this with the quilt maple top (really beautiful, matches some custom guitars’ finish), it was a bargain, I bought it in 2006, the retailed thought it was a Standard series, so it was like 35% off : )

It plays very well, though it has a few flaws, good for just jamming, but the pickups’ character and colourfulness is very-very far from e.g. the American Deluxe Strat’s ones.
The tremolo is likely to detune the guitar when used, so I blocked mine with a wooden wedge inside.

Still I think that it’s one of the best choices in this price category. It really is a Strat, no doubt about it, and you can’t really get that feeling from anything else but a Fender or this Squier (I’m sceptical about the Affinity series…).

its is actually a good guitar, to be a good guitar player you don’t have to own a pro guitar brand, “its not the guitar its the player”
