“If your wanting a guitar to start with, GO FOR IT, but if you are advanced get something better with a BIGGER AMP, because the one it comes with is a little small, although your talking to a guy that likes his stuff SUPER LOAD, and also Yamaha makes GREAT gutiars so i would go with them,”, Great Starter, Single Man Band
“I saw this package at costco also, and I had to choose between the squier and this guitar. I’m glad I got this one because from what I’ve read the pickups are better, and the guitar is better overall. It comes with a small amp, which works perfect for me, because i’m not trying to get a big loud sound. I just want to be able to hear what I’m playing. And when you turn it up load you get some crackling, so it’s perfect for mid volume playing. Of course I cant afford a jazzmaster which I would like, so this is great for the price.”, a nice guitar, C. Draney

“If you are just going to start to learn to play guitar, then this is the dream guitar for you, also comes with amp. This guitar’s sound quality and durability is really good, i was suprised, it is not the absolute best, but it is really good for starters or someone who wants a guitar but doesn’t want to go to far with it.”, awesome and cheap, Troy
Const:
“Don’t buy this guitar/amp. You can get a fender for no more than $…they work really well and It will last you a long time wereas this yamaha will only give you limited satisfsaction. So if you’re willing to spend only [this much] on a better guitar and a little more money on a MUCH better amp don’t buy this set.”, there are better there, an electronic fans
“The guitar sounded find but they made almost no atempt to fix big paint chips in the finish. BIG DISAPPOINTMENT! This was a restored guitar? I think they forgot to restore this one!”, big chip to big frowns, vadeboncouer
Pros:
“This is the greatest deal ever, you get everything with this. This is a very excellent product for beginners who want to learn on something that they are going to keep for a while. It comes with excellect products, the amp is nice to carry along to because its not to big. The electric tuner comes in handy for beginners who will have trouble tuning their guitar which can get you very frusturated. The book is nice but it doesnt go into much detail. I highly recomend this product.”, the best deal you can find anywhere, an electronics fan
“I’ve had this guitar for over a year and it has served me well, except for the input jack plate(plastic) which easily broke off after setting it down on a hardwood floor. I highly recommend the first mod you make to this guitar, if you want to call it that, is to replace the factory input jack plate(note, just the plastic outside plate, but you can replace the jack itself if desired) so that you won’t have the same problem as me, I find myself soldering the wires to the input jack just because I didn’t do this before I snapped the wiring. Getting back to the review, the guitar is awesome, very solid and comparable to a stratocaster. This EG112 Yamaha guitar blows the Fender SQUIRE out of the water, with much faster action, and two screamin pickups, one being a humbucker which you can easily switch between to get that echoes jimmy page sound or crunchy jimi hendrix sound. Granted, you will need pedals to assist you and perhaps a decent amp. But actually I like this amp, it makes a GREAT PRACTICE AMP, but will not get any louder than your average hardheaded drummer. It gets decent distortion, and does the trick for practicing and showing your friends a cool new riff. The only trouble I had with mine was a blown fuse, which was an easy 5 minute fix, it’s a little smaller than a car fuse so you might have to go to osh to find one or rummage through your garage, like I did. But overall, this guitar should last you as long as you want it to. I don’t take very good care of mine, and it’s still in perfect working order after a year and a half of abuse, knock on wood. In order to keep the neck straight, buy a guitar stand for 15$, this is a must, don’t lean it against your wall. Most importantly, have fun, and I’ve gotten nothing but praise for this 200$ gem from all kinds of guitar players, I paid 100$ with the amp open box so go figure). My best advise is to play it at the store and see what you think. “, Yahama is solid, joe
