ESP LTD EC50 Electric Guitar

ESP LTD EC50 Electric GuitarESP has done something very cool with their new EC50. They’ve started with a classic design, and added their own unique touches like beveled body contours, sculpted cutaway access to the upper frets, and 24 extra jumbo frets  and they’ve made it affordable enough for even beginners! The EC50 has ESP LH100 humbucking pickups, a Maple neck, Rosewood fingerboard and Black hardware.

Feature:
It came with a chord and an ESP catalog. But didn’t get a manual. Just a warranty tag. Ended up finding a manual at a dealer. As far as the guitar, electronics seem to be holding up. The tuners only last from one to two hours depending on how you play. It could use some locking tuners. The knobs came off after a while but it was ok (I got better ones). other than that it’s great.

An allen wrench, chord, warranty card, and a catalog came with the guitar. Really like having two volume knobs, so when use distortion, lower the neck pickup volume to where only get a clean sound, so you have three different sounds with a flick of the 3 way switch.
You like the jumbo frets and shorter scale works better for me because I have smaller hands. The lc100 pickups work well and the hardware is pretty sturdy. This guitar’s finish is beautiful, it’s like a dream. The picture doesn’t do it enough justice.  Love everything about it. From the glossy black finish to the matte black knobs and tuning machines. This flashy piece o’ work’ll get you noticed

Quality:
This sexy beast has a high quality that could definitely be used on the road and give you great sound for years to come. Some of the best quality I’ve seen on a $200 dollar guitar, ESP must’ve busted their backs on this one. The tuning machines need adjusting every now and then(but which ones don’t?), but nothings fallen off and it looks good as new despite me owning it for a little over 7 months. The guitar is made ok. Because all tone knobs fell off and had to put them back on and have to retighten them often.

One of the strap things is loose and can’t seem to get it back in. That is the only thing bad about it. but it is very durable. You have never had to replace volume knobs though. The problem with the screws and jack at the plug in. Also have this annoying buzzing that stared recently from the high e string lightly touching the first fret.

Sound:
Great and clean sound With an  Amp’s Overdrive feature. Love The fact that Metallica’s James Hatfield uses ESP’s Too . Weather its playing in my modern rock cover band, original band or the 80’s Tribute band, this guitar can do it all. This axe is much better with some distortion.

The reason the boy  gave it a seven is because its annoying when the lower notes cover up or distort the high notes. You can play quite a variety of music from hard rock like Metallica or lighter old styles like lynyrd skynyrd.

Value:
This is a nice instrument for the price. Usually a guitar of this quality would cost more than $200. But May you are not sure. The dude bought it for 150$. it has an awesome sound for a guitar of that price. Check Latest Price.

Ease of Use:
This guitar is pretty easy to move from one sound to another .  Very playable easy to pick up and play. You can reach almost all your chords and notes with ease. The only thing that could be a problem is the fact that its hard to reach the higher up frets. The fretboard is rosewood, which I prefer, and is very easy to break in. Nice jumbo frets, giving any player an edge.

Desirability:
This beast molds to your body when you play it standing up by the way it is made. Which is very cool kind a wish it had the cool scales that the higher ECs have want to buy another in black.

The finish is outstanding; you are just waiting for your first ding. The body really like has all the Les Paul design and how it has the curves on the edges. It molds to your body.

Overall:
This guitar is a godsend. I would recommend this for not only beginners but, also experienced players. I still play it every day.It is a nice guitar for the price, but I would like to upgrade to an EC 1000, or an SZ720FM. The problem is money, though, because the EC 1000 costs about $800 and the SZ720 costs $650, but I’d easily spend $150 upgrading it with some DiMarzios.

I am incredibly satisfied with this instrument, but if your planning on dropping some active humbuckers in it, it may need some work and money to arrange the passive setup into an active setup. I was going to drop EMG-81’s in but it cost too much. The sound is incredible, but you think you would have payed less to just buy another ESP with 81’s already installed. Reflective finish, strong tone, easy control, and a bang that will blow you away. Buy it.
