The new Gibson Zoot Suit SG guitar is the ultimate for stage style and playability. The word “Zoot” is jazz slang meaning extravagant style to which this guitar encapsulates. At first glance, one might think that the unique coloration of the Zoot Suit guitar is simply a clever paint scheme. Incredibly though, there is no paint used on the guitar.

The Zoot Suit
The body of the Zoot Suit features a brand new body built with multiple birch wood laminate pieces (each one approximately .075” thick), each dyed with a different color then compressed and bonded together to form one solid block of wood. No paint is used. Each body is given two coats of satin nitrocellulose lacquer.

By reorienting the dyed laminates opposite from the body, you can view the pin-stripe color pattern through relief designs that have been machined out of the head veneers, which also allows maximum strength to the overall structure of the neck.

Featuring a brand new body built with multiple birch wood laminate, each laminate piece is dyed with a different color then compressed and bonded together to form one solid block of wood. Two coats of satin lacquer are then applied to provide a smooth finish and also help protect the body from any damage.

Unique
Standard sg features. The features are less in the mechanics thaqnin the body which is unique and gorgeous. Plays well, good action and tone.Im sure it will outlive me. It is a tad heavy if they could fix that with some routing like they did on the les paul.

Limited Carved Top in Autumn Burst
For the first time on an SG, a hand-carved, highly-figured maple top rises unexpectedly from the traditional – yet still radical – dual-horned mahogany body. A clash of style and attitude! A high-gloss Autumn Burst nitro finish brings out the full depth of the maple’s stunning grain. It also delivers the sonic quality and sustain of Gibson’s legendary Les Pauls. The setting a fresh precedent for style, function and design just like the original SG model did in 1960.

The famed craftsmen at Gibson USA have applied a gently hand-carved arch to an AAA-grade maple cap atop a solid mahogany body, and given it a gloss Autumn Burst nitrocellulose finish to bring out the full depth of its stunning grain.

The SG Carved Top Autumn Burst is also an extremely playable instrument. It has Gibson’s famously fast and comfortable neck, with two extra frets for enhanced upper-neck lead work — a total of 24 jumbo frets — and the traditional 24-3/4″ scale length and 1-11/16″ neck width at the nut.

The SG Carved Top Autumn Burst has all of its predecessor’s performance appeal, and then some. Whether you’re a player looking for a distinctive new stage guitar, or a collector seeking a rare new acquisition, this is a highly desirable release.

The popular SG style featuring Alnico-V Humbuckers, and a beautiful Mahogany Body for lefties.

Feature:
Every part is defiantly used but there is not a bunch of features for this guitar. The pick ups were nice and the looks and the finish of the guitar were very good. The only things you can think of to add to this guitar are coil taps, a phase switch, and neck binding. But all of that would change the vintage vibe and raise the price so its probably best as it is. Check Price.

Quality:
This guitar is amazing!!! Best paint job for epiphone. The finish, etc were very good. Better in some respects than the Mexican made Fenders. The build quality of this guitar is astounding! The pictures you see of these do not do justice to the finish. It is absolutely gorgeous.

The rosewood on the fretboard even has a little figuring to it, and looks FAR better than Korean made Agile. There is a pinhead sized spot on the bottom of the body where there must have been a tiny air bubble. This is absolutely the best looking guitar for the money.

Sound:
The sound is great. It strange that this model felt and sounded better than the Tony Iommi signature model and yet costing about half of what the Tony Iommi model cost. The G400 model is made solid and is quite impressive sounding as well as nice looking.

The pick ups had a nice bite to them in drive mode and yet when you played both pick ups through your old Ibanez chorus it sounded nice and full without being muddy.

The SG has a different tone than other similar guitars, and it takes a little getting used to. The sweet spots are in different places than other guitars for the neck pickup, due to it being a little further back from the fretboard than a Les Paul or others.

Maybe that’s why some have complained about the pickups because this guitar sounds EXACTLY as it should. Even tried other pickups and they did not have the pick sensitivity or the vintage tone, or especially the low-end balls that the stock ones do.

Ease of Use:
This is a nice thin guitar that sits well in your lap. Epiphones necks be a little on the thick side (except the Casino/Sheraton/dot models) for your hands.

Value:
This is THE biggest bang for your buck. No doubt, a great value for it being a second guitar on stage or very good first guitar that won’t find its way to traded in for a long time. Check latest price.

Desirability:
This guitar looks amazing!!!

Overall:
Overall this is an amazing deal on a quality guitar that plays well and has a true vintage vibe and tone. The quality guitar to bring to the gigs if the weather is too cold or to hot and humid for Gibson Les Paul is exposed too.

The Epiphone G310 is an SG-styled electric guitar at a fantastic price. The G310 has an Alder body, which contributes to its bright tone. The twin open coil humbucker pickups make for great sustain and high gain lead and rhythm sounds. Other features include a bolt-on mahogany neck with a 22-fret Rosewood fingerboard, chrome hardware and dual volume and tone controls.

Features:
The best features of this guitar are the very slim neck, the dot inlays, and the four tone and volume knobs. Also the lead and rhythm switch which gives you a good punchy sound for the lead and a warmer, softer yet distinguishable rythm setting.

Quality:
Shows fingerprints easy but hard to scratch. The problem is that the hole your plug the amp cord into keeps falling in and to take it apart. Everything works, but things come loose. Had trouble with the cable jack coming loose and falling into the guitar. Also, knobs can come loose and need to be adjusted. The nut is not bad and not great. Check Latest Price.

Sound:
The overall style and sound rivals that of a real Gibson SG. It’s really worth the price. Sounds good not much difference between the 2 pickups though. If you’re looking for an AC/DC type sound this guitar is perfect. It sounds just as good as the Gibson SG. Don’t be confused by the name on guitars buy one you can afford and play and get good that way one day you can be making money off playing and you can buy any guitar you want to.

Ease of Use:
This guitar is very easy to use. It feels good in your hands with the ultra slim neck, its very light weight, and its components do not get in the way of your playing. It has good action and is very comfortable to play. Best all no strings to turn around.

Like any guitar, it takes some adjusting to get it exactly how you want it. The bridge was a bit to low and was getting buzz on the first fret. After adjusted the height it worked perfectly.

Value:
Definitely. For $214 it is a great guitar. This guitar was definitely a great value. You can always upgrade it.

Desirability:
Its a good looking guitar (hard to tell the difference between it and a Gibson as far as looks). You can’t really tell any difference look wise between this one and a Gibson.

Overall:
If you want a great guitar for a low price, this one is it. Mega boom for you’re buck
